Srimad Bhagavatam
Translated by A.C.Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada Narrated by Amal Bhakta Dasa With Background Music and Sound Effects.
Please visit Amal Bhakta's website
The Srimad-Bhagavatam is an epic philosophical and literary classic, and holds a prominent position in India's voluminous written wisdom. It was written in Sanskrit by Srila Krishna Dvaipayana Vyasadeva about 5,000 years ago. After writing it, he taught it to his son Sukadeva Goswami, who later spoke it to Maharaja Pariksit in an assembly of sages on the bank of the sacred Ganges River. Translated into English and comentaried by A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, it is now narrated for easy listening.
This 2 CD set contains approximately 97 hours of narration, using many voice characterizations to portray the book's numerous characters. This makes the spiritual accounts very compelling, enjoyable, and easy to listen to - a true meditation. The Indian background music and realistic sound effects; birds, elephants, chariots, thunderstorms, etc, help to fully absorb one's mind in the narration and produce a transcendental experience.
This narration is but a drop in the ocean of nectar existing in the form of audio books that have been narrated by Sriman Amal Bhakta prabhu. Some of you might be interested to get more of that sweet sound vibration and since the prabhupadavani.org website doesn't sell paraphernalia of any sort, let me nevertheless mention that this recording and many others may be purchased as MP3 CD's on Krishna.com, Krishnaculture.com, Blservices.com (Europe); or downloaded from sadhusanga.com.
