Great News

The Bhaktivedanta Archives just released their latest production. They have been working very hard to present exact copies of the original audio for the year 1977. This is the first installment as the other years (1976-1966) will be released when time and resources allow.

We are proud to offer these gems for your transcendental pleasure. Thanks to the Bhaktivedanta Archives staff.

I would like to add a note on the subject matter. This meticulous work is taking a huge amount of time and endeavor mainly due to the nature of the original recordings made back then. In preparing these files, they are continually confronted with issues like incomplete labeling, none-labeling, wrong labeling, segments spread out over other cassettes, under-level recording, sudden track switching, unrelated bits and pieces, recording quality, etc. We certainly owe them a great debt of gratitude.

An "Archival copy" is a facsimile of the original recording with minor IF ANY audio quality adjustments that remove artificially introduced sounds such as 50-60Hz hum, excessive tape hiss, and modest raising of volume levels for audio recorded at very low levels. These ARE NOT edited or cleaned up and packaged "for sale" recordings like the previous Ministry releases, but are to reflect the "as is" nature of the both good and poor original recordings made, hence Archival. We are doing this not only for your listening pleasure but to include individuals into the secondary archival benefit of off site preservation. Please note: The originals held in the Bhaktivedanta Archives are not and will never be altered in any way in accordance with Archival and Provenance procedure.

The year 1977 comprises a total of 388 audio files (387 with script and 1 in Hindi without script).
